Welcome back, Team LH! It’s been a busy couple of months since our last update in late May, and the 2026 season has delivered a chapter we will never forget. Seeing him fully integrated into the Scuderia Ferrari garage has been a dream, but seeing him back on the top step of the podium in red? That was history.
The Drought is Over: Victory in Barcelona!
We have to start with the most emotional moment of the summer. On June 14th, at the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix, Lewis finally ended a 41-race winless streak to secure his maiden victory for Scuderia Ferrari.
In a vintage, tactical masterclass at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Lewis outmanoeuvred the Mercedes duo, ultimately passing George Russell in the closing stages to take the checkered flag. The radio message of “Grazie a tutti” as he crossed the line will go down in Ferrari lore. It was his first win since the 2024 British GP, proving that when the car is right, the seven-time champion is as inevitable as ever.
Keeping the Momentum: Solid Points in Budapest
Following that incredible high in Spain, the team faced a different challenge this past weekend (July 26th) at the Hungarian Grand Prix. On the tight, twisting corners of the Hungaroring, Lewis put in a classic, tire-managing drive to secure another strong points finish for the Scuderia. While McLaren took the top step this time out, Lewis once again proved his ability to maximize the SF-26 on a physically demanding circuit.
The Ferrari Era So Far
We are now well into the 2026 season, and Lewis is looking more comfortable in Maranello with every passing race weekend. His feedback has clearly driven Ferrari’s mid-season development path—which culminated in that Barcelona upgrade package and the subsequent victory.
The intra-team dynamic with Charles Leclerc has been incredibly respectful, and the tifosi have fully embraced Lewis as one of their own.
What’s Next?
As we head into the final race before the traditional August summer break, the focus is squarely on finding that extra bit of qualifying pace. The team is pushing hard to ensure Lewis has the machinery to fight for more victories in the second half of the year.
