Our charity provides Nature Therapy support for the disabled and elderly (in
South Yorkshire). In order to help our younger visitors we are seeking an
inspirational family that would be willing to act as Honory Patrons. This
is not an active role, unless you want to do so, but one of approving and
providing moral to the work we do. We would like to invite the Hamilton
family (Lewis, Anthony, Linda, and Nick) to be our collective Honory Patron
Family (joining rock legand Rick Wakeman as our other Honory Patron). We
feel as a family unit you are an inspiration to other families that
regardless of difficulties you can achieve your dreams. You can take a look
at our modest web-site at www.winthroppark.co.uk
All our work is achieved through our own fund raising, and we don’t charge
for our support and work. We currently have just one paid member of staff
and operate through the dedication and hard work of 42 volunteers who last
year supported over 3,000 people.
We appreciate that your time will be in demand, but we hope that you will
agree to becoming our Honour Patron Family.
Best regards

Dear Sir,
You don’t know me. But I know you. We all do. We’ve grown up with you, cried with you, screamed with you through radios and screens, lived entire lifetimes in your overtakes. You were never just a driver, you were hope. You are hope.
And yet today, I saw you call yourself “useless.” And something inside me shattered. Because you’re the farthest thing from it. You are the reason I kept going, even when life spun me out like wet tyres on cold tarmac. You are the man who made a sport infamous for its exclusivity feel inclusive. Who made a child from any corner of the world believe they could belong in a place that was never built for them.
Useless? No, sir. You are everything and anything BUT useless. And I hate that you can’t always see what we see.
I wish I could sit across from you right now. No cameras. No noise. Just silence and truth. I would look you dead in the eye and say:
Remember who you are. The greatest of all time. The man who defied the odds. The man who went through thick and thin. The man who was showered by roses but also pricked by the thorns. And yet you still rise, like a king on a throne.
And I know it’s been hard. I know. The weight of injustice. The endless mind games. The media. The silence from those who should’ve protected you. The heartbreaks they brushed off as “just racing.” The eighth that was yours. The years they stole. And still, here you are. Still fighting. Still showing up.
Respectfully, sir, that isn’t useless. That’s heroic. It’s true I might not know the things that are going on behind the scenes but whatever it is going on one thing is for sure that ‘useless’ isn’t the word I would use. Yes, this year has been tough yes, it sucks but it also sucked at Abu Dhabi 2021 didn’t it? U gave your all but the decision that Red Bull made messed it all up… even now u gave your all sir, you did. I saw it. The team saw it. The world saw it. It’s a…it’s a bad phase that’s it. The point is it’s not your fault…
So cry if you must. Break if you need to. But don’t you forget who you are. Because we haven’t. Not for a second. And even if u forget who you are just sit in front of a mirror and look at yourself not with hatred or love just see yourself. The Lewis under the helmet and the racing suit
So please. When it’s dark, when the garage is quiet, when the helmet comes off and you’re just Lewis again, hold onto this:
You are not useless.
You are human.
You are a legend.
You are loved.
They talk about stats. Records. Numbers. But you? You are not numbers. You are moments. The kind that live forever. Interlagos 2008. The last-corner miracle. Monaco in the rain. Hungary from the back. Germany on slicks. Silverstone with three tyres. And every time they said “he can’t” you did it. You always did.
This reminds me of,
If there are 1,000 fans, I’m one of them.
If there are 100 fans, I’m one of them.
If there are 10 fans, I’m one of them.
If there’s only 1 fan, it’s me.
If there are no fans, I’m dead.
This sums up, my love and respect for you sir and I hope that whenever u find these words in your mailbox or anywhere I hope it gives u a sense of relief a sense of calm, and a little bit of happiness. That’s all.
Forever and always,
Your fan,
Who never stopped believing in you, even when you stopped believing in yourself.
Xoxo
PS:
I can’t think of a better institute than yours to learn about Formula One. You’ve taught me more about courage, resilience, and grace than any textbook or race strategy ever could. I know it’s a long shot, you might never read this. But if the universe is listening (and I believe it is), I hope one day it brings you to this message.
You believe in manifestation, right? So I’m manifesting this: that you remember who you are, remember the man who drove the W11, remember the man who won a championship in his second rookie year, remember the man who gave the greatest battles, remember the man who resembled senna on the track, remember the man who went from P20 to P1 in São Paulo, remember the man who gave the iconic moment in Silverstone 2022 lap 44/45, remember the man who won Silverstone 2024, remember him and bring him back. You were not useless then you are not useless now you are not to be blamed for this, for the position you are in so, remember yourself. If that means not listening to your team and going with your guts so be it, your guts brought you here and that’s who will also help u stay here. I hope you bring back the kind of greatness Formula One has been aching for… the kind that only you, Sir Lewis Hamilton, can bring.
And hey, I know it’s a little cheesy, but to me, the Sir in “Sir Lewis Hamilton” has always stood for:
Still I Rise.
(he he he :D)
I saw the opportunity and I took it :p
Sending all my love ?
