Let’s all come back to the racing issue! Please!! This is why all of us are here on this site and it is all about you and not personal disagreements!
You are the best! Everybody has to acknowledge this now, even if they do not want to, but you showed in Hockenheim how great you are and even if the moderators on RTL talked bad about the last pit stop and were putting down your team’s decision, you proved them wrong. Like in your karting days you are getting the turns just ‘on the edge’ and this is what makes you to the best driver. I think you are the most popular sportsman in the world and I can imagine how hard it is at the moment, because everybody want to get a bit of you, if it’s autographs, interviews, Paparazzi’s who want to catch every little date…
Last week Friday me and my family and some friends went to an amusement park in the Netherlands and I thought about you. You can not even enjoy these kind of things anymore, because nobody would ever leave you alone. This is a big sacrifice what you are facing at the moment, but like you said “It’s the price you pay, but it’s worth it!”
Your nice personality make a lot of people very happy and all the people I met never talked bad about you. All the fans here in Germany love you so much!
The pole position is yours in Hungary and we will hear the British Anthem again on Sunday!
I hope Heikki will catch up this weekend and you can finish 1 – 2.

Excuse me they are not spelling mistakes there is difference between a spelling mistake and a typo.
You’re just another person that jumped on the Lewis Hamilton band wagon before even getting to know about formula 1. I doubt you know about any of the greats i.e. Aryton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Alan Prost, Juan Manuel, Mika Hakkinen, Nigel Mansell and so on, any actual F1 fan has a general knowledge of who won which race especially of the current season as well as especially your favourite driver’s wins if you have knowledge you would easily be able to tell me who came 1st, 2nd, 3rd and pole (not poll, pole) in each race from Australia to Germany from your knowledge (not the computers) which I doubt you can do.
By the way if Emma is not my name why would it be on my birth certificate (that is probably spelt wrong but it is a bit more complicated than pole don’t you think) and thank you but I am not a little girl I obviously have more general knowledge than you. For your information I am a very intelligent person so before you judge me I have very high grades for my age to the point of A*’s in most of my lessons so when I leave school I will have many opportunities to do as I like and If I wish to go into formula one then I will as my education is not stopping me.
I said before you call me a hater as you did in the sentence before. I would never say anything that would offend Lewis as I am a fan of his to the point of obsession. So before you past judgment on me or any other Lewis Hamilton fans just make sure you know you’re a contradicting insolent manipulative immature adolescent (sorry if those words are too big for you to understand).

Hiya Lewis,
Well the first thing I have to say is that how did you get so good looking ?
With that said, you are the reason I have come to have an obsession with forumla 1, your book tought me many things about the sport/motosport. You as a person are such a good role model for teenagers as your so focused, also how you concentrate on good energy is inspiring. Every other weekend I will sit down, watch and learn from you. Obviously I would love to be in a forumla 1 car but as it littrally male dominated and I am only 15 I doubt that will happen anytime soon, but the thrill you get from it shines through in your personality, and I would like to experience that.
Canada was obviously a heart breaking race for you, though people say you must have been blind to not see the red light, I always said he will come back because he lewis hamilton, then france happend which was another blundery though I think it was unfairly ruled that you got the drive through penalty. Though you pulled it back in silverstone in front of thousands of adoring fans with a fantastic wet weather drive which makes you the best wet weather driver of your generation. Then again in germany where you took a challenging victory, I must say I was screaming at the tv when the safty car came out, then nearly had a panic attack when you over took piquet for the no.1 slot bringing you back to where you belong at the top of the championship.
So your on your best form all season and on the way to making it 3 in a row, something that will destine you for championship glory. All I can say is good luck and I hope the tempritures are low enough to keep the Mclaren on top form. Keep hungary nail bitting but not worrying..

I don’t know if you ever get to read this site, but I really hope you do and that you read this e-mail. I am British and proud to be so.
You as part of a large contingent of Great sporting and influential characters have been a significant part of my life and my Britishness.
It was with great sadness that I saw what the British Press did to you prior to Silverstone and the hurt and upset they caused you your father and your family. If only it were an isolated case of ignorance on their part but unfortunately it is not. The British press are allowed far too much “FREEDOM OF SPEECH” and in so doing are often so wrong that they cant see the truth from the Headlines. I personally believe they should be hauled in by governmental bodies and their licences to print rubbish revoked.
I believe our sports people, who’s dedication you particularly embody, are so much greater than these people that you and your family especially your father who is an inspiration for future fathers are a shining example of what can be achieved by a family. I am not surprised you left Britain to find some peace and I really hope you win the world championship this year and that in the future you are able with good drives and SUPPORT from the British public to eclipse the brilliance of Michael Schumacher.
I hope our press realise what a precious commodity we have in all of our sports people and many of our dignitaries and that they leave well alone in the future.

Sorry, but I could not manage writing any comment on Sunday, because me and my family rushed taking off for a visit in the North of Germany.
What a tremendous victory! You were awesome! It was so impressive how you dealt with the traffic after your last pit stop! You showed such a great race like in your karting days in JICA. The battles what you had with Fraser Sheader in 1998. This sort of spatial awareness and instinctive vision how the other drivers will react are together with your great racing skills “God given”. This is what nobody can ever take away from you! Praise God for this and do not forget to give Him Thanks! He is the One who brought you so far!
Now every race is yours and you will make it up to a great Championship. You gave the F1 circus a new face and a new flair. So many people are watching you. Even people who never were interested in F1 are now watching just because of you. F1 was never so exciting like it is at the moment. Thanks for that!

Dear Mr. Hamilton,
congratulations to your amazing victory in Hockenheim GP in Germany last weekend. I have been watching it and thought: Okay, this is going to be an unspectacular race. But it totally changed with the crash of Timo Glock and in the end you still won, but with what a racing ability. Being around 1 whole second faster than the rest of the drivers is unbelievable.
I am sad that I did not have the chance to visit the GP personally as I had to stay in hospital during these days. But next year is another chance at nürburgring.

I’m sure your family are extremely proud of you, in coming such a long way in your career, in just a few years, and may it continue for a very long time. You remind me so much of my grandson, to whom you are an inspiration. His name is Reece and he is 7. He was heading in the direction of football but, due to being let down do many times by his team manager, has become very deflated and has lost interest. He is now saying he wants to be just like Lewis and, if that is what destiny has for him, we will support him all the way. Well done Lewis, keep it up, and I will continue to follow your career and watch you bloom. You should also use proper English, and spell out the words (“you”, not “U”, “for” not “4″, etc.) Lewis might think you are talking down to him, implying that he can’t understand big words. You don’t want to spoil his victory in Germany now, do you?

OK, firstly, i would like to know the ‘attitude’ Lewis and his Father have, especially towards the press?(not that its relevant to Lewis’ driving-on track).

Just think of the last lap in Silverstone. All the 90000 fans blew the air horns! This was great moment. We taped it and watched it already 5 times and it is overwhelming. Also the GP in Monaco! The last lap again and the joy he shared with his father and brother and his team. All the big boats in the harbor blew also their horns! These are the moments we as fans should always remember!

I have to say that it is shameful how some of the so-called Lewis “Fans” are going on about not getting an autograph. I am an ardent fan of Lewis all the way from South Africa and you people are so lucky to even get a chance to get a glimpse of him, let alone an autograph. All we can do in South Africa is watch him on television – we do not have the oppurtunity to go an see an actual grand prix live. just to let brian know i met lewis for the first time, i was so taken aback when he was there in front of me he signed my top my hat and my program, he ,gave me a little special moment, then a little later i asked for a photo with him, he did not mind , there was a big crouwd at brooklands waiting to see lewis,we saw he did give his fans time,adults and children alike,maybe you were not quite in the right place at the right time, i think lewis is a very caring, and has a big heart of gold, maybe brian you will get to meet him properly

I was at Goodqood yesterday and was lucky enough to speak to Lewis and get his autograph.
He spent a lot of time at the top of the hill speaking to fans and signing autographs. True he was surrounded by press which made it difficult to get to the fans but he certainly spoke to as many as he could.
Jensen on the other hand only went half way down the line of fans before turning and walking away from the others, leaving many disappointed.

Mr Harper, I was at Good wood yesterday, and I too could not get an autograph for my son. But I understood, it was mad, so many people all pushing and shouting for Lewis to sign something for them. My little one was upset that he did not get Lewis ‘s autograph. But I explained to him that Lewis cannot sign for every one. I did not feel stunned or
disappointed in Lewis, because life is like that. People need to understand that it is likely that Lewis will change, it’s a part of growing up, as his fame increases it’s likely that his time will not be his own and he may even become a little remote from the fans. What I’m trying to say is, we do not own him. Lets just enjoy the talent that is Lewis.

Dear all you beloved Hamilton fans,
Thanks for your kind replies, but at Goodwood he did shun his fans like me. I know he doesn’t have all the time in the world, but he did not behave like the other drivers who did spare their time to meet the people.
I am a true fan of Hamilton, but this has shaken my belief in him as a person. Please don’t tell me he is the same guy he was in his book – for a start Lewis didn’t write the book it was Timothy Collings who ghost wrote it. When do you think an F1 driver would have enough time to sit ath the typewriter and spend half a season on his memoirs?
I think he is a great driver, and will be a great champion, but right now he has left me unsure of whether he is a great man.
I belived him about moving for tax reasons, and I belived him when he says the crashes aren’t his fault, but I don’t believe he will always keep his adoring fans satisfied with his behaviour.
Please don’t tell me I am wrong as I was at Goodwood at that time and place and you were not. If you were there you would have felt upset just like I do.

Hey fellow Lewis fans. These so-called Lewis fans who are posting on here saying Lewis ignores his fans are obviously the racists who run that nasty website that criticises him all the time. They have obviously plotted to post negative lies on here. I was at Brooklands last month and he signed autographs for half an hour when he was only scheduled to do it for 20 minutes. Then he did another half an hour, which was NOT scheduled. I managed to get a picture and a cap signed, and my friend got a cap signed. His security people were dragging him off at the end but he would have carried on if he could. Lewis is marvellous with his fans, really caring and warm. Don’t believe the negative lies. Dear all your beloved Lews fans,
I can imagine that it is disappointing waiting so long and not getting any autograph at all. Normally Lewis has always time for his fans, but sometimes you have to consider that his time schedule is too tough to get to everybody in the crowd. He is the only driver I know at the moment who spends so much time for his fans in order to meet everybody’s request. Even in Silverstone he apologized on his webpage that he could not greet everybody.
It is not the matter of his publicity now, because I think the maximum is already reached. He is not the type of person to get “big headed” and from his biography until now his personality has not changed! I think everybody forgets that the F1 got out of proportion with the media and the sponsorships. There is too much hype at the moment and this is really not the fault of the drivers at all.
If you are desperately seeking for a personalized autograph you have to send a request to his office in London together with a picture and an envelope with your address. The best way to get one!
Just before you put him down think about yourself if you would be able to manage all that what he is managing in addition to his tight daily schedule.
Do not be unfair to him and do not behave like little teenagers who would do everything in order to meet their superstar.
I think we are all adults and should behave like that!

well said Marilyn…i understand if the kids get upset,they aren’t supposed to understand,and that is why their parents should explain to them,but when grown ups start getting upset then it becomes plain stupid (sorry for the strong language),pple need to realise that he is human and they arent the only ones there…at least he does make an effort,a lot of drivers dont even bother,i have a kid who adores Hamilton to an extent that i am worried and when he couldn’t get an autograph from him i simply explained to him and he understood….

You peple seemed to have missed my point! Every year at Goodwwod the F1 drivers all take time and walk over to their fans chat and sign autographs. 3 years ago when Alonso was there it was the year he 1st won the drivers championship even he spent a lot of time chatting to fans and signing. Lewis really learns that his fans are the ones he needs to impress ask Damon, Jenson, DC and other wiser drivers.

I’m a fan of Lewis, and I think some of Lewis’s fans need to get a grip. How can he sign and pose for everyone, it’s not possible. Give him a break. Support him or don’t support him, it’s your choice, he is world famous now, and his time is limited. He can’t please everyone all of the time. He is doing the best that he can. I know you may feel aggrieved at how Lewis was but i think because his last win has put him in the spotlight, he has become so famous that his arm must ache from autographs. I’m only trying to see it from Lewis’ point of view and maybe, like all of us, the pressure gets to him sometimes and we all have ‘bad’ days. I think he doesn’t want to be a ‘movie star’ and just concentrate on his driving and maybe he ought to cut down on the ‘public appearances’? Just a thought.

I was at Goodwood too with my son. My boy is a huge fan and we had waited for hours to see him and he just blanked all of us and didn’t sign autographs or spend any time talking to any of the kids. Maybe he is too famous to talk to us ordinary people now, but he shouldn’t treat his fans this way. My son was really upset. What am I supposed to tell him? He’s too important to spend a minute signing your McLaren hat? Shameful.

Went to Goodwood yesterday and cant believe how ignorant to his fans Lewis was. Ive been going to Goodwood since it began and have seen and met most of the F1 drivers there. Lewis came to the paddock yesterday and simply couldnt be bothered with his fans who had qeued for hours to see him. He didnt walk over and sign any autographs like all other drivers have done in the past, Lewis was simply not bothered with his fans – disgraceful Lewis !! Maybe Alonso saw this in him ??

26 GP’s and 17 podiums speak for themselves after 1 1/2 years driving in F1. Nobody had such a start ever in F1.
If Kimi is so cool, how can he push a F1 reporter who has the rights to make pictures on the track? If he does not like this “circus” I think he should stop driving in F1 and go to DTM. Every driver has to do his job. Even if it got a bit too much with the sponsors, but this is how it is for every driver at the moment.
Lewis is just a normal guy and he is taking his time for his fans and for all his “aside the track jobs”. Where is the problem?

Tina, that’s right. Your husband took a photo for me. I remember Lewis speaking to you. I was in a state because I couldn’t believe I could see him right in front of me. He comes across as just absolutely the loveliest man ever. I don’t know how anyone could be negative about him. I have met him before at his book signing on 5/11/07 where he shook hands with me and had a little chat. I think he is just the best sportsman in the world today and the nicest. I am so sorry that man said that to you – I thought it was only fans there that day. What on Earth was he doing there? I’d just like to say well done and congratulations to you for winning the British Grand Prix. I was lucky enough to get tickets the the British GP last year and again this year and not even the early morning of arriving at Silverstone at 7:10 or the rain could ruin Sunday as we were all there to support you and watching you drive like that and the victory cheered everyone up. I’ve had incredible seats every time and sitting it the Granstand on the pit straight it was amazing to see the smile on your face as you took your place on the top step of the podium.
I’d also like to say that we Brits dont often have much to look forward to sport wise and Lewis you are an amazing driver and shouldnt let the critics or any one else put you down and tell you that you arent good enough, they are just trying to distract him from winning races and the 2008 driver’s championship. Just relax and keep your feet on the ground and do what you do best Lewis, you have the support and backing of all your fans.

That was some drive yesterday at Silverstone – very well done Lewis!
I must confess to not being a 100% fan, but I have to respect your driving when you get it right, a little more humility when you get it wrong would not go astray. I guess I’m a lot older than most of you fans I was at school when Clark, Hill and Rindt were idols of the day. They didn’t have the commercial pressures of today but they knew how to handle themselves on and off the track. Good luck for the second half of the season – stay cool and win the championship.

It appears there are some cynics leaving comments on this site about how Lewis got the drive with Mclaren?
It really is quite simple – he has talent.
Now, I really dont think the colour of his skin is a “marketing point” either way people – its 2008, not 1808.
Lewis represents a new line in BRITISH sporting heros, the drive yesterday and the one in Monaco shows he has stamina, strategy and intuition. He is the first driver whom continually see’s a podium finish as a TEAM effort.
I’m unsure as to what bad press Lewis has received of late (I dont read the red tops), but I am sure that he is above it.
Keep up the game Lewis, you’ve made sure I follow F1 again!

Just a reply to beavis about how Button should have got the McLaren seat ahead of Hamilton because Hamilton “didn’t serve an apprentiship”.
Can I remind you Beavis that Button went straight into the Williams teams (which was a decent team at the time) after finishing THIRD in the British Forumla 3 championship the previous year. He was also given a chance at testing the McLaren but failed to impress. Lewis served his apprentiship in the GP2 series and won it (Button skipped past F3000 and went straight for F3 to F1).
After Williams Button had a second chance at Renult, again he failed to captialise and was replaced by Alonso who went on to win two championships while Button took a big pay packet at Honda instead or going back to Williams.
Barricello now routinely out performs Button so to suggest Button should have had his THIRD chance with a top team is just blinkered IMO – he justing isn’t that good.
Hamiltons record speaks for itself but some narrow minded people aren’t capable of looking past his colour.

“dark driver” i see where you are going with this….just upset because a kid got a chance to make something good out of his life and you can’t accept it because he isnt your favourite driver and because he is black….they don’t give f1 seats to drivers because of marketablility,a driver has to prove to be worth hiring (scoring championships in feeder series) and lewis did that,instead of complaining why dont you be a die hard fan and root for your favourite driver no matter what happens?? I am 61 years old but in my youth I loved motor racing. You are an inspiration to all young people today. I feel you are a very caring young man, probably a product of your parents values. Today I watched you win the British Grand Prix, congratulations. I too have been to Silvestone and was in the pits it was a wonderful experience. Every time you race I pray for you to be safe, I have 2 sons, one loves fast cars and I always worry about his safety, although he has raced at a few tracks which has given him the experience of just how far to push a car.

Just come back from 2 weeks hols and been amazed at the sudden bad press for Lewis and reading some of the comments today I am truly amazed….am so glad that Lewis has stuffed those critics words and proved them wrong – get a grip everyone – this is a British driver doing our country proud – get behind him!!!

I would not worry about negative people with comments not worth publishing, unfortunately they reflect a sick society but without the sick the rest would not be normal/healthy. Lewis well done, you proved that you have what it takes.
